What to Expect
Learn about the growing Latino/a/e/x population and the importance of Hispanic and Minority Serving Institutions in New England from local and national experts.
Hear from and network with educational, government and policy leaders, scholars, students, and community practitioners.
Engage in workshops focused on how to reduce equity gaps, help all students thrive and amplify student鈥檚 and community鈥檚 cultural wealth.
Who Should Attend
- Higher education professionals in MA or the New England Region from aspiring, emerging and designated Hispanic and Minority Serving Institutions.
- Local political, policy, community and educational leaders interested in higher education.
- We encourage college and university leadership to send a team including deans, chairs, faculty, student affairs, enrollment management, student services staff, grant writers, board of trustee members, and community partners interested in learning about best practices for Hispanic Serving and Minority Serving Institutions, equity in higher education, and/or supporting Latinx or Hispanic student success.

Registration Cost
- Conference attendance for Massachusetts Public Higher Education institution employees and trustees, students and community partners: Free
- Conference attendance for employees and trustees of private or out of state institutions: $85 for 1 day or $150 for both days
- Thursday (7/18) evening seaside Community Networking Reception with focus on Immigration: $30 per person
Included in the cost of registration:
- Conference materials
- Thursday Continental breakfast, Caribbean lunch and snack.
- Friday Breakfast, Latin American lunch and afternoon snack.
- Parking, transportation to community reception

Note: This conference will be capped at 350 people.
Overnight Stays
Conference participants may reserve one or more nights in Charlotte Forten residence hall for $80/night.听
Reservations are for one private room in a suite with one or two additional rooms. Each suite has a private restroom and private shower which will be shared with anyone else staying in the same suite.听
Groups or families can request to reserve a suite with two or three rooms (up to 5 beds). Linens and towels are included in room cost.
Charlotte Forten Hall is our newest residence hall named after our first African American graduate in 1856.
In addition to the on-campus accommodation, we have reserved a block of rooms at the Salem Waterfront Hotel at $269 per room and up.
We encourage participants to consider extending their stay in Salem and enjoying this that shines in the summer.听
