Summer Financial Aid聽
Students who wish to receive financial aid for the Summer semester must meet the following criteria:聽
- Be a matriculated (degree-seeking) student at Salem State University.听
- Have a valid聽) on file for the current aid year.
- Submit the Summer Financial Aid Application聽listed on the聽听辫补驳别.听
Summer Enrollment听听
- Financial aid eligibility is based on the number of credits a student is enrolled in.听
- To ensure timely processing and notification of aid, students must聽register for all their Summer classes聽(for all sessions) by 11 pm on the first day of the Summer Add/Drop Period.
- The聽Summer Add/Drop Period ends one business day after the first class meeting.听
- The Add/Drop Period for each semester and each session can be found on the聽Academic Calendar.听
- If a student changes their聽enrollment, does not attend, or does not complete a registered course, their聽aid will be adjusted, and they will likely owe a balance. Unpaid balances will result in a hold聽on their account.
- Financial aid is earned based on days of attendance. Students who do not complete their Summer courses will be subjected to the聽聽calculation,聽resulting in loss of aid. This return calculation can occur聽AFTER聽Summer classes have concluded and will result in a balance due.
- Students must be enrolled in at least six credit hours to receive federal financial aid.听
- If a student decides they聽no longer want to attend a class registered for, they聽MUST聽drop the course(s) online. The student is responsible for ensuring聽their聽schedule matches their聽intentions.
Summer Refund Policy
聽If a student withdraws from courses:聽
- Before or during the Add/Drop Period, they will receive a 100 % refund聽
- Between one and six calendar days after the Add/Drop Period ends, they will receive a 50% refund for their tuition only; no fees will be refunded.
- No refunds will be given seven or more calendar days after the Add/Drop Period ends. 聽
聽for Summer聽
Summer aid is processed before Spring grades are posted. At the end of the Spring semester, if a student is聽聽or not making SAP, they will be ineligible for Summer financial aid. Any Summer aid awarded will be canceled, resulting in a balance due.听
Due to the academic intensity of the Summer term, if a student is on an SAP Warning status or is on an approved SAP Probation appeal, we strongly suggest they discuss their Summer enrollment with聽Academic Advising.听听
If a student is on an SAP Warning status at the end of the Spring semester:聽
- Undergraduates must earn a minimum 2.0 GPA and successfully complete 66.7% of the Summer courses attempted.
- Graduate students must earn a minimum 3.0 GPA and successfully complete 66.7% of the Summer courses attempted.
- Failure to achieve the above requirements will result in a failing SAP status and the loss of financial aid for the Fall semester.听
If a student is on SAP Probation:聽
- They must have an approved SAP Appeal with the聽Financial Aid Office.
- They聽must be on an approved Summer Academic Improvement Plan from the聽麻豆成人精品 for Academic Excellence (CAE/ADVISING).
- Undergraduates must earn a minimum 2.0 GPA and successfully complete 66.7% of the Summer courses attempted.
- Graduate students must earn a minimum 3.0 GPA and successfully complete 66.7% of the Summer courses attempted.
- Failure to achieve the above requirements will result in an Academic Improvement Plan violation and the loss of financial aid eligibility at Salem State.听
