Accounting Certificate
The accounting certificate program is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in the accounting field and to enhance the practical skills for individuals currently employed in an accounting-related position. These credits may be applied towards a bachelor's degree in accounting as well as prepare a student for the Certified Public Accounting exam.

Successful completion of the Accounting Certificate Program will meet the specific accounting educational requirement to sit for the Uniform CPA exam. Candidates for the CPA exam must also meet other specific education requirements including successful completion of 24 credits in business, not including the above accounting course.
The individual must maintain a grade-point average of 3.0 as a minimum for courses taken at Salem State University.
* A total of 9 credits may be transferred from other accredited institutions.
